Mission

We believe peace can be secured by empowering people to develop and control their own futures. We start by assisting with their most immediate needs, which includes providing emergency and primary medical care, water, food, and other necessities required to sustain life to individuals and families who lack these essentials. We then seek to promote intellectual growth, especially for children, by establishing well-rounded secular educational programs that emphasize science and the humanities. We accomplish these goals by creating sustained health care programs such as permanent and roving clinics, as well as, educational institutions in underserved regions of the world.

Who We Are

Our core operational volunteers are composed of individuals heavily trained and experienced  in disaster management, emergency and primary medicine, global security, counter-insurgency, and civil affairs operations. Our teams insert into local communities to set up programs to meet our primary mission.

Our support volunteers are individuals with a variety of backgrounds, skills, and abilities who share our core values and want to promote peace and stability in the world through medical and educational programs. They come from all walks of life ranging the gamut  from retired educators to homemakers, and students to sales people. Like any non-profit charity we depend very highly on those who can offer their time, knowledge, experience, and finances to further our common goals.

Our corporate sponsors, organizational partners, and individual donors are our backbone. Without your generous support and financial gifts, we’d not be able to help those in need. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of others.

Our Beginning

BOOTS ON THE GROUND (BOTG) was founded by a group of like-minded medics skilled in emergency, remote and austere medicine, global security, disaster management, and related fields. The genesis of BOTG started after hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf States and decimated Mississippi and Louisiana. Within 48 hours our founder James L. Clark responded to the disaster by driving his own vehicle, with his own supplies, and on his own dime into the heart of New Orleans where he provided desperately needed medical care to hundreds of patients. His efforts were covered by major networks around the world including CNN, Fox News, the BBC, and others. It was a pivotal moment in his life.

A privately held non-profit corporation, BOTG functions as a charity, humanitarian relief, and training organization
