Medical Volunteer
BOOTS ON THE GROUND (BOTG) always welcomes medical volunteers. We specifically need physicians (ER docs, family practice, internal medicine and pediatrics), mid-level providers (Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants), radiologists and ultrasound technicians, and nurses.
Haiti: Long-Term Medical Support Program
We have several different medical programs currently in development for Haiti. The first is an out-patient clinic that operates similar to a Family Medicine Department, but also handles emergencies. The goal is to expand it’s practice to deliver and over-night stays. We are in the process of putting together a Women’s Clinic, staffed completely by Haitians, and we operate mobile clinics and DMATs (Disaster Medical Assistance Teams) for both inside and outside IDP camps and in communities.
Our preference is in accepting volunteers with training experience. The goal of this program is to empowering the local community by training Haitian medical staff. Eventually, our hope is to open a full time permanent teaching hospital in the the heart of Port-au-Prince.
The primary role of a medical volunteer with BOTG is to support local Haitians. We seek volunteers who are prepared to teach, mentor, precept and partner with the local community.
