Heroes Among Us

Just got in my copy of the segment of Heroes Among Us that featured my work in New Orleans after Katrina, and then in Haiti after the earthquake. Special thanks to ATI for including me and what we do. I’m honored.

Hero Starts Non-Profit

March 1, 2010 – (Los Angeles, CA) – 2008 Hero Award recipient James L. Clark has decided to start an official non-profit organization dedicated to providing emergency and primary medical care, clean water, food, shelter, and education to those in need in developing nations.

The genesis of BOTG started after hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf States and decimated Mississippi and Louisiana. Within 48 hours our founder James L. Clark responded to the disaster by driving his own vehicle, with his own supplies, and on his own dime into the heart of New Orleans where he provided desperately needed medical care to hundreds of patients. His efforts were covered by major networks around the world including CNN, Fox News, the BBC, and others, which later caught the attention of the producers of the Hero Awards in L.A.

But it wasn’t until James returned home from his recent trip to Haiti following the devastating 7.0 earthquake, that he finally decided to move forward with the idea. “I got side-tracked for nearly five years with my military commitments and business endeavors. I only wish I had started it sooner.” says Mr. Clark.

The purpose of Boots on the Ground (BOTG) is to function as a humanitarian aid and charitable organization dedicated to providing in-field emergency assistance and educational programs in current conflict theaters, former military operational zones, and in areas of extreme poverty, famine, or that have been affected by disasters such as  fires, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, and tsunamis.
