BOTG-ME (ACTIVE)

BOTG-ME is a chartered nonprofit organization that operates exclusively as a sub-branch under the 501(c)(3) status of Boots on the Ground, Inc. (BOTG-NGO). The primary purpose of BOTG-ME is to extend the mission of Boots on the Ground (BOTG-NGO) in and around the State of Maine.

NOTICE REGARDING SCAMS AND FRAUDULENT COMMUNICATIONS

Please be advised that all officers, directors, and authorized representatives of Boots on the Ground (BOTG-NGO) and its Chartered organizations (such at BOTG-ME) are required to use official email addresses with the bootsontheground.org top-level domain (TLD). We do not use any other TLDs (ie., .us, .co.uk, .eu or any others whatsoever). Any other “Boots on the Ground” organization using any other TLD is in no way associated with Boots on the Ground, Inc. Any communication purportedly from “Boots on the Ground” or its representatives that comes from a different domain, even if it appears similar in nature, or from any third-party provider (ie, gmail, hushmail, etc), should be considered inauthentic and potentially fraudulent.

For your security and assurance, please note the following:

  1. Official Emails: Only emails received from addresses ending in @bootsontheground.org are legitimate and authorized by Boots on the Ground. We have owned the domain for nearly twenty years, and we also own the .com TLD as well.
  2. Inauthentic Communications: Any emails from domains other than bootsontheground.org, regardless of their similarity or the use of third-party email services, are not from authorized representatives of BOTG and should be disregarded.

If you receive a suspicious email claiming to be from Boots on the Ground or its representatives, do not respond, provide any personal information, and do not send funds of any kind whatsoever. Instead, please report it to us immediately for verification and further action. Numerous “start up” organizations have attempted to adopt the moniker “Boots on the Ground” in an attempt to capitalize of of the name and our nearly twenty years of good will. This is especially so after major disasters. Please use caution when engaging anyone claiming to be apart of Boots on the Ground and conduct appropriate due diligence.
